Yesterday marked the first stage of our journey to Mexico. I felt greatly reassured having been provided the email addresses of a couple of brothers in the Matamoros congregation. One of them wrote offering to pick us up at the airport which was very kind. I sent him a photo so he could recognize us and requested a photo of him. He sent what you see below ...
I lugged luggage to the car in preparation for our phase-one drive to New Hampshire to visit with our son Robin and family prior to departing from the Manchester airport. Our car was unusually silent when I pressed the key's unlock button. The problem was instantly identifiable as Dead Battery Syndrome. I had turned on the headlights the previous afternoon while traveling through the Ville Marie tunnel, returning from a downtown Peso purchase, and had forgotten to turn them off. A technician from CAA arrived in fifteen minutes and set the car purring again.
Driving along a back country road we were so engrossed in lively conversation that I missed the turn toward the U.S. border. This finally became apparent when our road led us straight to the large unfamiliar doors of a big church in a tiny village. We applied the necessary mid-course correction and were soon explaining the various aspects of our projected trip to a U.S. border guard.
This morning the Mexican brother emailed me a photo of both him and his wife so we could actually recognize them at the airport. I wrote back that to simplify matters I would be carrying a 4 ft. x 4 ft. poster with his photo on it and the the word "Wanted" printed below. I think that will help - as long as it's not misunderstood.

Concerned your erratic driving, forgetting turn headlights off, and totally accepting photograph from person hiding his face.
What if he is a coyote?
