Meeting

Before leaving for the meeting today I nipped up to the hotel roof to see how my pet volcano was doing. It was doing quite well.

Smmmokin'!

The driver of the first taxi we stopped to take us to the Kingdom Hall had difficulty recognizing where it was located. We were prepared with an invitation that not only provided the address, but also included a small map. The driver seemed to have poor vision and could not understand it. So we had to abandon that taxi, thinking maybe it was just as well if the driver's eyesight was so poor, and we eventually flagged down another taxi that delivered us to the Hall five minutes before noon when the meeting began.

Here is a post-meeting photo ...

In the center of the above photo Carol can be seen talking to Joyce, a sister we know from Zihuatanejo last year. She is moving to Colima. Joyce kindly arranged for us to join her and two other couples for lunch at a Teryaki restaurant.

The Teryaki Lunch.

Back at our hotel our bags are now packed again and ready for the last leg of our journey, a bus ride to Zihuatanejo / Ixtapa which is projected to take 8 hours along a coastal road of outstanding scenery. This blog may well not have an entry tomorrow due to this travel.

As the sun set this evening I checked once more on the volcano. Still percolating nicely.

The brass band returned to the Bandstand this evening with its repertoire of music mostly from the forties, all superbly played. Below is the scene of the park, and barely visible central bandstand, as it appears from our hotel room balcony. At top left is a building with tables between the arches on the second floor. This is the Italian restaurant where we had a delicious pasta meal a couple of nights ago ...

Tomorrow: on the road again.
